All online students have access to the same library resources - and the same librarian assistance - as do our students on campus.
You can access our online resources from anywhere, off campus and on, through our Library website at library.wilmington.edu.
Through OhioLINK, you can order books to whichever OhioLINK library is closest to you.
Librarians are available by phone, email, and zoom for reference questions or consultations.
We use single sign in, so you will authenticate through your Microsoft Office 365 login information. The sign-in option is in the upper right corner of the WC Discover screen, and you will also be prompted with a banner to sign in so you get complete results.
Search in WC Discover by any word or phrase, by author, or by subject.
To request books in WC Discover, you must be signed in - we use single sign in, so you will authenticate through your Microsoft Office 365 login information. The sign-in option is in the upper right corner of the screen, and you will also be prompted with a banner to sign in so you get complete results.
Once you are signed in, you will see the option to "request a copy" of any book that is available. The default for WC Discover sends a requested book to Watson Library for pickup, but you can change the location to any library in OhioLINK. To pick up requested books from the OhioLINK library closest to you:
When you want to request a book, select the request a copy button.
Under pickup location in the request form page, select the library where you want to pick up the book. (There will be a drop-down list.)
You may be asked to "refine the offer" - click the refine the offer link and you should then be able to submit the request.
When a book you've requested arrives, you will get an email sent to your WC email account, letting you know the book is available to pick up.
When picking up your book at another OhioLINK library, you will need to have your library card number ready. You library card number will be your ID number with enough zeroes in front of it to make 9 digits. EX: if your ID number is 123456 your library card number is 000123456.

Watson Library actually has more eBooks in our collection than we do physical books!
To search for eBooks in WC Discover, set your search to "books" and the location to "Watson Library", then search by author, title, or general topic. When WC Discover returns a list of search results, there will be a "filter results" option on the left-hand side of the page. Select "available online" to see only eBook results.
Each eBook publisher’s content looks slightly different. Some publishers have different extra tools than others, such as bookmarking or email functions, but almost all are searchable, and offer the option to read online or to download sections. You do not need a special e-reader for library eBooks; just your laptop or other device.
For more assistance navigating eBooks, see our eBook Access Tips and Information page.
If you would like research assistance, contact the library staff at library@wilmington.edu, or call 937-481-2345.
You can also set up a one-on-one reference session with a librarian by clicking on the "schedule a librarian" link on our website - virtual reference appointments are available via Zoom.
Full-text access to journal, magazine, and newspaper articles is available through the library databases.
To access library databases, select the Databases & Collections option on the library home page.
The Databases A-Z option will give you an alphabetical list of all databases we have access to.
Different databases will have different search options and look slightly different, but they will all give you the option to search for full-text articles and download individual articles.
(For further assistance locating hard-to-find articles, contact the library; if we do not have the article in our databases, we may be able to get it for you from a library out of state.)
Watson Library has access to over 200 databases, so here are some general suggestions:
