3. SYLLABI: (5 min.) Review the statements about plagiarism in each of your course syllabi.
1. Every piece of writing, photography, artwork, film, and media has a copyright status. Copyright is complex but is critical to 
understand if you are thinking of using the work of another in your own work. [Scholars and careful text or web creators always cite sources, regardless of copyright status.] Some sources belong to others and there are limitations and rules on how these sources may be borrowed for use in your profession or work.

2. Your work (writing, projects, photography, creative expression) is copyrighted automatically under US law. Even though you are a student, you must be consulted on how your work may be reused or repurposed. You may grant specific permissions without giving up your rights.
