From the search box on the library website, you can use the drop downs and the check boxes to customize your search before selecting the "Go" button. All of these filters are usable after doing initial search as well.
Below you can see some of the options for customizing your search:
All formats - Searches books, articles, and journals all in one search
Books - Limits your results to books and ebooks
Articles - Limits results to articles whether from journals or newspapers
Journals - Limits search by journal name and does not search individual articles.
Search Scopes tell the search whether you want items through specific locations, such as Watson Library or OhioLINK, or type of resource such as Online Resources or Course Reserves. Here are the definitions of what each scope will search:
Everything - Does a combined search that includes books, ebooks, media, articles, and journals
Watson Library - Searches for books, ebooks, media, and journals owned by Watson Library
OhioLINK - Searches for books, ebooks, media, and journals available from other Ohio Libraries and what we have here at Watson Library
Online Resources - Searches for articles, ebooks, and online media you can access right now
Course Reserves - Searches for books, media, and other materials available at the library through course reserves
Available Online - Limits your results to articles, ebooks, and media that is available online
Peer Reviewed (Scholarly) - Limits your results to scholarly, peer reviewed sources
If you begin your search from WC Discover directly, you can select the format type you are looking for as a part of that initial search.
Alternatively, you will perform the initial search and then use the filters within WC Discover to limit your search results.
